Dr. Dietmar Fellner is a Senior Expert Counsel at LGP and can be contacted for questions on foreign trade, economic diplomacy and CIS markets, especially Russia. He is an expert in foreign trade, an economic diplomat, a Russian expert and a lawyer. Before joining LGP, he spent eight years heading up the Austrian Centre for Foreign Trade in Moscow. In his role there, he dealt with numerous CIS markets in politically and economically challenging times. Dietmar Fellner has first-hand experience of current goings-on in the Russian market – his current advisory focus lies in the identification of new business potential for Austrian companies in the midst of the localisation and import substitution policies pursued by the Russian government. Positions earlier on in his career in the Foreign Trade Organisation of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (AWO / WKO) led Dietmar Fellner to come into contact with a wide range of markets and cultures, including the Middle East, Saudi Arabia and Iraq: He experienced the transformation of Eastern Europe as a trade delegate in Romania, and subsequently worked in Portugal, among other countries. Dietmar Fellner is a qualified lawyer, and has worked in the service of Austrian foreign trade almost without interruption for four decades. He speaks German, English, French, Portuguese and Russian.
