Attorney-at-law Elisabeth Steiner sees us bring a trusted expert in the rule of law and international relations to join the LGP Senior Expert Council (SEC) team. In her new role at LGP she will bring comprehensive knowledge on the workings of international courts to the table: between 2001 and 2015, Elisabeth Steiner spent two terms as a judge at the ECHR, and from 2011 she was also Vice President of Section I of the ECHR and, as part of this role, dealt with the administration of the court. She was a successful corporate lawyer even before taking up office at the ECHR. Elisabeth Steiner holds multiple visiting professorships in Beijing, Hong Kong, Yantai, Stanford, and Istanbul, and also lectures at the Universities of Vienna and Graz, as well as at the Danube University in Krems. She publishes regularly on the rule of law, and issues relating to the conducting of legal proceedings. Her additional specialisms are in the fields of corporate law, civil law (focusing on compensation law), European law and employment law.
