New year – new face!

New year – new face!

The Austrian-Israeli Chamber of Commerce (AICC) starts the year 2022 with a new Head of Business Development. In the LGP interview, Zsofi Postyn talks about her personal plans and goals.

You’re quite new in your role: could you tell us a bit about yourself and your connection to the AICC?

In the last few months, the AICC has been undergoing some exciting developments in terms of changes in the board and personnel. I myself joined the AICC in September and would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself: I was born in Hungary, educated in the USA and moved to Vienna two months ago.

What I love most about this great city is its culture and quality of life, its size and its security. During my stay in London, I worked a lot with Israelis and Israeli institutions - including Technion University, the Israeli Institute of Science.

What do you see as benefits of an AICC membership?

My role at AICC is to help our members find suitable business partners in Israel. I will actively support them in navigating the ecosystem of our “startup nation” and introduce them to new ideas, opportunities, technologies and developments. As you probably know, Israel’s current evolution into a “high-tech ecosystem” is shaped by an extremely vibrant community of innovative startup companies.

Israel ranks second in the world after the U.S. in hardware and software development, information and communications technology, and healthcare technology. But Israel is also among the top five in the world today in energy and environment, marketing and sales, and social and recreation. This success can certainly be attributed in part to the leadership role of the Israeli public sector and the Israeli education system.

What are your goals for 2022?

An important goal of the AICC for the coming year is to strengthen relationships and deepen cooperation with AI companies, especially in the insurance and banking sectors. I therefore invite interested companies from Austria to contact me and talk together about the future of their company, their need for solutions, potential cooperation partners in Israel and much more.

Take advantage of our many years of expertise and our numerous contacts to Israeli startup accelerators and incubators, which we will be happy to put you in touch with.

I very much hope to meet you in person soon, either in a conversation or at one of our upcoming events. Already firmly scheduled is a talk by the former head of the Israel Innovation Authority, Aharon Aharon, as well as a webinar with Professor Alon Wolf. The Technion Vice President will talk about the cohesion of science, industry and business development in Israel.
